41st Pottery Fair in Sa Cabaneta - Fira del Fang

Locally known as the Fira del Fang, this event is one of the most significant cultural highlights in the municipality of Marratxí, famous for its long-standing ceramic tradition. Held right in front of the beautiful church of Sant Marçal, the fair brings together master potters, curious locals, and visitors for a multi-day celebration of clay and creativity.

Your visit on Saturday, March 7th, kicks off with a vibrant opening ceremony at 10:00 AM. You will see the traditional 'planting' and dancing of the giants, Madò Bet and Marçal, accompanied by the soulful sounds of the Xeremiers de Marratxí. It is a fantastic sight that perfectly captures the spirit of the island. Throughout the day, the atmosphere is buzzing with energy. If you are bringing the family, make sure to check out the family workshop between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, where you and your little ones can get your hands dirty and learn the basics of pottery.

The afternoon offers even more cultural immersion. At 5:00 PM, you can enjoy traditional folk dancing with the group Terra Rotja. It is a wonderful opportunity to see local costumes and rhythms in a stunning outdoor setting. The fair continues through the week with various activities, including storytelling for kids, 'batucada' drum parades, and specialized workshops led by the Pilar Sastre Ceramics School. The fair is open from Monday to Friday between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM, and again from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. On weekends, you can browse the stalls all day from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
